This article employs a comparative analysis of empirical research findings on the perceptions of organizational culture to examine the problem of organizational change in the context of misaligned mental models among different tiers of management. The study involved 170 employees (37 senior managers and 133 middle managers) aged 25 to 62. The empirical results reveal statistically significant differences in the perceived images of the preferred organizational culture between senior and middle management. These differences indicate a crisis in the manageability of organizational change.
