The article analyzes the formation the Hodonymic space of the town of Severodvinsk. It is argued that important codes for nominating streets of Soviet cities and towns are ideological and local ones. It has been established that existence of a street called «Torfyanaya» (considered the first name of Lenin Avenue) is an urban myth in Severodvinsk.
