The author considers the problems of self-identification of the future teachers caused by the modern postindustrial society. The problem of students self-identification and the crisis of the person' identity are considered.

In the article they define the basic structural elements of the religious factor forming the potential of tolerance in interethnical communication. The possibilities of religion in raising the potential of tolerance are revealed on basis of the analysis of the sociological research materials. Unused resources are displayed. Practical recommendations are given on basis of conclusion and generalization.
