The article presents the results of an empirical study of the value-semantic sphere of 50 full-time students from the Kuban State University, branch in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, learning the areas of training 03.04.01 Pedagogical education (directions of training: economic education, philological education, biology and physical culture) and 44.03.02 Psychological and pedagogical education (directions of training: psychology and social pedagogy). The research used the following methods: “Life-meaning orientations” by D. A. Leontiev, the test “The level of subjective control” by E. F. Bazhin, E. A. Golynkina and A. M. Etkind, the test “Value orientations” by M. Rokich. As a result of the research, it was proved that the value-semantic sphere of students, according to their professional orientation, has specific features. The formation of the value-semantic sphere is to some extent determined by the individual-typological characteristics of the individual, in particular, by the type of self-determination, and the meaningfulness of life can be considered a significant factor in successful professional development.
