The article highlights the problem of ensuring the comfort and safety of passenger transportation, substantiates the relevance of the problem, presents the results of the survey of stopping points on passenger urban routes in the city of Shakhty, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the results obtained by field research.

In article development of a passenger transportation system in the Voronezh region for 2015–2019 years is analysed. In the course of research of a condition of a passenger transportation system current trends of its development are revealed. The main directions of futher development and strengthening of a regional passenger transportation are defined.
