The article discusses current scientific approaches to the problem of studying personality, based on biographical methodology. Classifications of areas of biographical research available in domestic and foreign literature are described. A comparative analysis of the indicated methodological approaches of biographical studies of personality has been carried out; the features of each individual direction are disclosed in detail; general features characteristic of biographically oriented approaches to the study of personality are derived. Some philosophical and methodological aspects characteristic of biographical research are derived and identified.
