With the development of power systems, their operating conditions become more complicated, as a result of which even small deviations in the operating parameters of electrical networks can develop into severe emergency conditions, leading to disconnection of consumers from the power supply. At oil pumping stations, chemical plants, metallurgy and other industries, synchro-nous motors (SM) with a voltage class of up to 10 kV and a power of up to 30 MW are widely used as drives [6], which is due to their advantages over asynchronous motors [7]. The purpose of the work was to analyze the use of an electrical energy storage system to increase the stability of load nodes.
The article discusses the reliability of various automation systems while maintaining a normal voltage level in the nodes of the power system. The main attention is paid to the installation of an automation subsystem for limiting voltage reduction, for which control actions are considered for shutting down shunt reactors, switching on capacitors, boosting and increasing the excitation settings of the SC and generators of the station, and switching off the load. The introduction of automation for limiting voltage reduction does not require significant material costs, making switching off the load a very attractive way to increase the reliability of power supply in megacities.
