The article highlights the problem of the need to prevent dysgraphy in first-graders with mental retardation. The author states that the problem of preventing dysgraphy in first-graders with ASD is insufficiently developed. The methodological approaches and speech therapy technologies for identifying the prerequisites of dysgraphy in first-graders with ASD are analyzed. The results of the attempted ascertaining stage of empirical research are presented. It is assumed that the work of a speech therapist teacher to prevent dysgraphy in first-graders with ASD will be effective in implementing a speech therapy program based on comprehensive correctional and developmental work, taking into account the individual characteristics of students with ASD and an interdisciplinary approach.
