The article focuses on the actuality of monologue skills development in the process of language learning and acquisition at high school with the help of problem solving activities and tasks. The authors analyse notions of a monologue (transactional speech) and problem solving activities, describe preparation and implementation stages. Positive characteristics of this teaching technique are specified, and the terms of its implementation are determined. The authors summarize their personal experience, add a fragment of a lesson plan, assess practical results and list recommendations.
