The article is devoted to the study of the marketplace as a new business model that allows small and medium businesses to receive high profits and increase their target audience. In particular, attention is paid to the most common type of marketplaces operating in trade – a product marketplace. Based on the analysis of existing definitions of the concept of «marketplace» in economic literature, the author’s definition of the concept of «marketplace of goods» has been developed.
