Studying the graphical potentialities of high-level programming languages takes an important place in basics of programming course. Knowing this toolkit allows students to create their own graphic subprograms and effectively use them when developing their computer graphics applications. Their own graphic libraries can be effectively connected to various projects. An important methodological aspect of studying this material is understanding the interaction of mathematical and software apparatus.
The article describes a system for teaching algorithms and programming for schoolchildren of different ages, tested by the authors for 5 years in schools of Belarus. Different programming languages, visual and scripting, and the possibilities of their use in training are described. The article describes the sequence of their use at different stages of learning.
