the Relevance of the problem is determined by the need to form the reader's interest in fourth-graders to works of heroic character in the course of project activities. The purpose of this work is to determine the pedagogical conditions that effectively influence the formation of readers' interest in works of heroic character in the course of project activities. Theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature and pedagogical experiment became the leading methods of research of the problem. The main results of the article: the criteria and indicators of reader interest are presented, project activity is characterized as a means of forming the reader's interest in the works of heroic character of younger students, the project "My favorite hero" is presented and its effectiveness is proved.
The article interprets the concept of «reader's interest» as part of cognitive interest; the factors influencing the development of the reader's interest of younger schoolchildren are identified, the features of using the myQuiz platform in literary reading lessons and extracurricular activities for the purpose of developing the reader's interest of younger schoolchildren are revealed.
