The article concerns the teaching of the Russian language on the basis of a study of painting in the Chinese audience, identify the psychological characteristics of perception of Russian painting by Chinese students. Analysed books on Russian as a foreign language, concluded that there was a need to expand and complement the tutorials kulturovedcheskim material, introduce foreign students with a rich culture of Russian people multi-genre, with masterpieces of Russian painting. The system of exercises for the realization of interrelated training Chinese students all types of speech activities (speaking, reading, listening), formation of their communicative and cultural competence, efficiency use pictures to speak Chinese students in Russian. This article analyzes the truly risky participation of Russian artists in the exhibition in New York in 1924, as well as the role of famous cultural figures in the organization of this grandiose event. In addition, the article presents the views of the members of the organizing committee about the course of the exhibition, their aspirations, justified and unjustified expectations, summarizes the results of the exhibition, highlights the achievements and difficulties that had to be overcome in the course of work.
