NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CROSS-BORDER TOURISM WITH THE COMMISSIONING OF PASSENGER BUS TRANSPORTATION ON THE BLAGOVESHCHENSK-HEIHE BRIDGE

The article deals with the Russian-Chinese investment project ‘Blagoveshchensk-Heihe Bridge’. The commissioning of this project has significantly improved the cross-border infrastructure between Russia and China. The author highlights how its opening stimulated the growth of tourism and trade between the Amur Region and Heilongjiang Province. The author concludes that regular cross-border bus service has significant potential to expand cross-border transport and strengthen economic and social ties in the border region.
