This article discusses the problem of school disadaptation in the aspect of speech and psychomotor development of younger schoolchildren. The main advantages of using art therapy in working with younger students are listed. Changes in the indicators «Difficulties of adaptation in the children's team» and «The formation of the cognitive sphere» as a result of the implementation of the art therapy program for first graders are proved.
