This article examines issues related to the ways of replenishing the lexical-semantic group of nouns with the meaning ‘drink’ in modern English. The article attempts to analyze the ways of replenishing the studied group of lexical units and to identify the most representative ways. The article describes such sources of replenishing the lexical-semantic group as word formation, borrowing and semantic derivation.
