The article is devoted to the problems of sexual culture and sexual education of youth in the Ivanovo region. The representatives of many humanities study these problems, because there are considerable changes at such institutions as family, church and many others. These changes leave traces on forming any culture as well as sexual culture.

Sex education is a system of medical and pedagogical measures to educate parents, children, adolescents and young people about the right attitude to gender issues. To date, the topic of sexually transmitted diseases and abortions in the Russian Federation are socially significant. According to the literature review, it became known that the issues of sex education have low cov-erage among students of other cities and universities. At the same time, there is a high level of complications after abortive intervention. The overall incidence of STDs, although decreasing every year, but their importance and prevention do not lose their relevance to this day. The purpose of the study is to characterize the level of awareness of SSMU students about issues of reproductive behavior and to assess the degree of organization of the university in educational work on the topic of sex education. Object and methods. The study was conducted among SSMU students by anonymous questionnaire. Results. Insufficient awareness of students in matters of reproductive and sexual education has been revealed. Conclusion.
