The paper presents the results of influence of parent-child relationships on formation of personal identity of women seeking psychological help. A specific example shows negative impact of the lack of harmonious affective preferences of parents on formation of identity and selfesteem. The author gives a brief description of psychotherapy method “symbol-drama” in cases of diffuse personal and sexual identity.
