The article analyzes the essence of the concept of «civil identity», considers the idea of implementing a special educational program for the formation of ideas about the holidays of the small Motherland as an aspect of the civil identity of older preschoolers.

In recent years, the policy of our state has been aimed at forming a respectful attitude towards the history of Russia among primary school children, which is why the purpose of our study was to conduct experimental work to identify the features of the formation of a respectful attitude towards the history of Russia among fourth graders. Based on the criteria and indicators identified by us, methods were selected and tested to establish the peculiarities of the formation of a respectful attitude towards Russia among fourth graders. We conducted the ascertaining stage of the experiment, which served as the basis for obtaining data on the effectiveness of further experimental work.
