The article focuses on the characteristics of the adaptation of foster children to the circumstances in the educational environment. The author reveals the steps and conditions for social and pedagogical adaptation that are useful for parents and teachers in helping a foster child to adapt to new living conditions. A number of difficulties in raising foster children have been identified. Social workers are presented with methodological recommendations for social support of foster children.
