The article analyzes the conditions of the influence of seminars on the development of creative thinking of cadets of a military university. The authors focus on the fact that when posing problematic issues, or when creating problematic situations during a seminar, students develop the ability to lead a discussion and defend their point of view. A brief description of the department’s experience in the application of methodological techniques at the seminar is presented, which allows you to train officers who think and are able to navigate in a complex modern environment. As a result of the study, it was concluded that holding seminars on the basis of problem-searching activity will activate students to search for new knowledge and contribute to turning knowledge into firm personal beliefs.
