The article discusses the need to improve homework with the activation of educational activities as a separate component. The study of this problem by the teacher made it possible to reveal that the teacher does not have certain methods and forms of checking educational homework, as well as ways to include children with poor academic performance in the educational and cognitive process. That is why it is worth studying the stage of homework as a separate component in the development of children's cognitive activity and in raising their academic performance.
