The article analyzes the results of an experimental study of the attitude of primary school students and younger and older adolescents to the inclusion of activities that are typical for their age in solving educational tasks in the classroom. The authors, considering the leading activity as a resource for creating situations of success for students, analyze the children's attitude towards educational activities, tasks based on play, learning activities, interpersonal interaction in pairs and groups of classmates, practical activities, and career guidance content. The study involved junior schoolchildren, junior and senior adolescents with intellectual disabilities, severe speech disorders, and schoolchildren without special educational needs, who were studying in grades 4 to 11. As a result of the analysis of the experimental data, the general trends of the phenomenon under study were identified, which are common to all children, and the distinctive features characterizing the state of readiness to engage in leading activities were compared.
