The article is dedicated to the organization and conduct of laboratory and road tests of automotive tires under the natural conditions of a cold Russian winter. A unique methodology for phased preparation of snow and ice surfaces, developed by specialists from the Road Faculty, is presented. The proving ground conducts comparative tests of key parameters of studded winter tires. The uniqueness and importance of the proving ground as a universal testing center for laboratory and field tests of automotive tires in unique climatic conditions are highlighted.
