The article analyzes the concept of death through the prism of the pagan worldview of the Sakha people, contained in the 1992 film «Sayylyk». The image of «sayylyk» is revealed, expressing a utopian representation of life after death in the form of a national paradise. The role of the mythologems «yer» and «horse» is indicated.
