the article deals with the formation of younger students ' ideas about the cultural traditions of the Russian people and its implementation in the process of fine arts lessons in accordance with the GEF. Ideas about the cultural traditions of the Russian people are formed during the lessons on the program of B. M. Nemensky, an example of a specially designed lesson is given.
