This article deals with the development of a mock-up of a thermal shock equipment and the study of the properties of carbon nanomaterials obtained from plastic waste. The thermal shock equipment was assembled on the basis of a capacitor battery, which produced powders from polypropylene by the method of fast Joule heating. The powders were investigated by the following techniques: Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and UV microscopy. The electrical properties of the obtained samples were measured by the dual-probe method. The post-processing results showed the C/O atom ratio as 10:1. Spectrum of Raman spectroscopy and UV microscopy shown that peaks characteristic of graphite/graphene-like materials. The electrical properties show that there is a tendency to decrease the resistance by 2 orders of magnitude after thermal shock.
