The article presents the results of a study of the effect of the CO-4 stabilizer on the processes of degradation of high-density polyethylene when it is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation by infrared (IR) spectroscopy. It has been shown that the absence of a stabilizer in the polymer leads to a decrease in the amount of vinyl groups. It is assumed that vinyl groups in samples without a stabilizer interact with alkyl radicals, which are formed during UV irradiation.
Optical radiation is one of the types of pre-sowing treatment of seeds, it allows in the early stages to start the successful growth of the future plant, by activating the physical and biochemical processes occurring in the seed. The article presents the results of studies of the effect of the dose of ultraviolet radiation on the productive qualities of barley seeds of the «Academician» variety. Research in this direction is relevant since pre-sowing treatment of seeds significantly improves the quality of the crop.
Crop productivity can be increased by pre-sowing seed treatment. One of the effective directions of such treatment is the treatment of seeds with radiation of the optical range. This method of processing is characterized by manufacturability, ease of automation and the ability to adjust the parameters and modes of processing. The article analyzes the specifics of the effect on the seeds of grain crops of optical radiation of the ultraviolet part of the spectrum, and draws conclusions about the practical application of ultraviolet radiation.
