Тhe article deals with the research of the English poetic system in comparison with the Russian translation.

The article is dedicated to the problem of rhythmical structure of the English poetry. The authors comment upon the main rhythm-forming factors and the rhythm impact on the readers’ perception of the poetic text.

This article touches upon the issues of interrelation and interaction of poetic and musical principles on the one hand, at the phonemic level, on the other hand – at the level of tone, intonation. There is also a certain parallelism between the organization of the verse and the melody of the songs.
