This article discusses the possibility of using some language games as a means of enhancing professional-cognitive activity of students in the classroom of English at St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation.
The article highlights the possibility of vocabulary games incorporated into middle school foreign language classroom. To boost the students` interest in learning, teachers need to diversify the activities offered in the classroom. The authors describe and argue in favor of special game tasks that are intended to strengthen the middle school students` vocabulary sub-skills which were tested during student teaching.
