The article is devoted to the issues of utilization of by-products of animal husbandry in different periods of agricultural production development, namely, in traditional society, in the XVII–XIX centuries, as well as modern processing technologies. The following areas of waste disposal are highlighted: in construction and military affairs, as fuel and fertilizer, in the production of paper and ceramics, for the production of some biological products, even in medicine. Technologies of utilization of by-products of animal husbandry at livestock complexes and small agricultural (farming) enterprises are highlighted.
