The article is devoted to the wedding ritual as social and cultural practices of society. Traditional wedding is considered as the resource of the modern wedding ceremony. Wedding are analyzed from the point of view of the bearers of cultural values and meanings. The author pays attention to such key concepts as wedding ceremony, traditions, innovations and needs of the people.
