Sazonova S. HOW TO SURVIVE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL: SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION FROM SCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY // Научно-методический электронный журнал «Концепт». – 2026. – . – URL: http://e-koncept.ru/2026/0.htm
School years are wonderful. At school we spend our formative years when childhood fades away, and we start to realize that the world is not all fun and games. By the end of school there comes a time when we have to choose and decide, be smart and resilient to the pressure of adults who want you to become an adult too. Judging by sad statistics this period leaves deep scars in the psyche of students preventing normal life in the future. The results obtained in the research of HSE Institute of Education and Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights say that up to 74% of schoolchildren get exhausted spending up to 10–12 hours of studying daily, which exceeds norms of working hours even for adults [1, p. 77]. Pedagogical psychologists report that up to 25% of schoolchildren aged 16–18 by the end of school suffer from various mental disorders provoked by permanent stress, pressure, fear of failing exams and miscommunication with peers and parents [2, p. 45], [5, p. 56].
The relevance of our study lies in the need to solve that complex issue to help form healthier youth, as that influences the future of our country. Our motivation is to help students to successfully cope with challenges of that period of life.
The aim of the study is to make up a guidance program for high school students.
The objectives are:
– to describe set of issues that accompany high school students;
– to explore causes and effects of the main issues of the set;
– to develop a solution to these issues.
