Abstract. The author focuses on one of the most important tasks of the modern education - the formation of the research culture of high school students. In organizing and conducting the pedagogical monitoring the diagnostic concept was made, the toolbox that allows you to determine the degree of formation of this phenomenon was also created. The study suggests that the educational environment must include virtually all aspects of human life and create all the necessary conditions for the formation of research culture at school.
