Abstract. Finite element method is a modern standard tool for determining the stress-strain state of structural engi-neering. The traditional course of strength of materials is focused on «manual» methods of calculation of an age exceeding 100 years. The article is devoted to the integration of finite element analysis in the course of strength of materials in the form of tasks, solved by the students on practical lessons.
