Student sports as high performance sports

Abstract. The paper compares the concept of sports, high performance sports, students’ sports; discusses the laws of the Russian Federation, makes the offers in this field. The example of success of Russian sport in recent years was holding the international competitions, which were entrusted to Russia in recognition of its authority in sport: XXVII World Summer Universiade in Kazan (2013), World Championships in Athletics in Moscow (2013), World Aquatics Championships. in Kazan (2014), XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi (2014).
