Abstract. The author examines the implementation of competence-based approach in teaching foreign languages to students of nonlinguistic humanitarian specialties. The author presents the generalized experience of the chair of foreign languages to form students’ competence according to the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards of Russian Federation.
