Competence approach in teaching foreign languages

Abstract. The author believes that one of the ways of intensification of educational activity of students, enhancing their motivation to learn foreign language and educational activity and creativity is the competence approach in teaching foreign languages. The article defines the most effective methods and techniques of teaching students a foreign language from the position of a competence approach.
