Abstract. The article is devoted to questions of the formation of the mental operations of younger schoolchildren in the process of teaching. The focus is on learning to solve mathematical tasks.The author suggests ways of teaching which are aimed at development of students. Methods related to the one described in psychology techniques of mental activity. The article presents examples of organizations working on specific mathematical problems.
