The paper is devoted to a problem of “translation” of the classical text on the language of cinema in different national traditions and in system of different national film schools. The author analyzes the screen versions of F.M. Dostoyevsky’s “White nights”, which poetics combines the realistic and sentimental beginnings. Special complexity is connected with removal of a dreamer’s image on the screen.
