The main stages of management consulting development in Russia are analyzed in this article. The main approaches (functional, activity, socio-economic, process, and others) to the essence of management consulting have been identified; a number of factors influencing the development of consulting services market in Russia are described. As the main trends in the development of the domestic market of consulting services, the authors highlight globalization of socio-economic processes; digitization of all spheres; development of corporate programs and state support instruments.
