In modern conditions of international exchange regulation, risk management may be successfully applied in such areas as management activities in customs authorities. This article discusses the concepts of customs risk and the risk management system in the economic aspect. The author identifies the sources of customs risks and their possible causes. A risk classification is presented. The analysis of threats and risks is determined as the most important direction for improving risk management in the customs system.
