ART 221030
The article touches upon topical issues of language learning in the aspect of an integrated approach to teaching a foreign language as a means of communication in its basic representational forms (speaking, writing, reading and listening) in the modern world and offers a modern approach to solving this problem in the era of smartphones, videos, blogging, where more and more people are manifesting a desire to announce themselves, to identify themselves with a multi-million audience in the information and digital space. The purpose of the article is to analyze the ways in which video self-modeling can be integrated with culturally oriented learning strategies for teaching foreign languages, as well as to describe an experiment illustrating how video self-modeling can increase self-efficacy and contribute to fast learning. The works of domestic and foreign scientists on the essence of the "self-modeling" concept from the point of view of psychology and pedagogy served as the theoretical and methodological basis for this study. As for the research methods, in order to determine the impact of video self-simulation on the academic performance of students, the competences of mastering the main language representational forms were measured before and after the completion of the experiment. In addition to the analysis of grades assigned to students using an analytical scale, discourse analysis was carried out during an online survey among students. As a result of the study, we were able to identify correlations between the introduction of self-recording videos into the learning process and an increase in the general English-speaking competence of students, which ultimately indicates a significant degree of self-recording videos influence on the affective factors of students in the learning process. The analysis of qualitative data showed that the use of the video self-modeling technique in English classes not only improved the general proficiency in oral speech of students, but also contributed to the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language in general, as well as to the personal development of students. The theoretical significance of the study lies in providing an overview of modern scientific research in the field of studying innovative approaches and technologies for teaching foreign languages in various educational contexts. The practical significance of the article is in the fact that this technique can be used as one of the strategies for developing students' academic competence, as well as digital literacy in this area.
