The paper is devoted to some issues of preparing high school students for the Unified State Exam in Mathematics. The authors have defined the most important points to place an emphasis on when solving problems of high complexity, containing parameters. The researchers note the importance of training students to solve such problems in terms of formation of students’ logical thinking.

The article is devoted to topical issues of training students to methods of comparison, analysis and algorithm choice for the solution of an objective on the example of the comparative analysis of algorithms of consecutive search.

The author reveals the main tendencies of use of modern information technologies in the course of training of students of higher educational institutions. The special attention is paid to the use of training and testing programs and presentations. Recommendations for their development are made.
