The article explores the concept of naivety and its place in Greek culture, art and philosophy. Naivety is proposed here to be considered as simplicity and sincerity in the approach to life and art, where it acts as a mirror of human nature, reflecting the emotional primordial feelings. Examples from ancient literature are given, personified in the works of Homer, such as The Iliad and The Odyssey, where the characters, driven by inner instincts and deep emotionality, show naivety, which is an important element of their images.
The author shows that the naive heroes of Greek mythology act under the influence of fate, which emphasizes sincerity and devotion to their ideals. The Greek epics serve as an illustration of human aspirations and naive actions, which attach special importance to true feelings and high moral standards.
