The article presents a comprehensive analysis of criminal law provisions aimed at safeguarding fundamental human rights and freedoms. It examines the elements of crimes against the person, which constitute a distinct category in the General Part of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including offenses against life, health, personal liberty, honor, dignity, and sexual inviolability. Particular attention is paid to issues of qualifying such offenses, challenges in distinguishing between related criminal compositions, and current trends in judicial practice.
