The article describes the practical experience of teaching students in the tourism industry through modeling a foreign-language environment and the use of alternative approaches and modern teaching technologies. The authors give reasons to implement this model within non-linguistic students. Examples of the organization of students' activities using anthropocentric educational technologies, tested at the Department of Foreign Languages for the Humanities of Petrozavodsk State University, are described.
