This article is devoted to the study of the problem of teaching first-graders the solution of arithmetic problems. Particular attention is paid in the article to the artistic and creative abilities of students, as one of the effective ways to increase the level of formation in first-graders of the ability to solve arithmetic problems.

The article presents the results of work on the development of artistic and creative abilities of younger students in extracurricular activities based on the use of various visual techniques. In the process of the study, fine techniques were used: leaf prints; poke with a hard semi-dry brush; impression with a cork, vegetable seals, foam, foam plastic; nitcography, plasticinography; drawing with a jet of air (inflating the paint).
