This article analyzes the connections between Slavic languages at the phraseological and paroemiological levels. Belarusian phraseology and paroemiology, in addition to native Belarusian set expressions, contain a significant number of international, Common Slavic, and East Slavic words, as well as loanwords, cripples, and semi-cripples. Russian is also a source of borrowings, from which many set expressions or individual components of them entered Belarusian.
