The purpose of the article is to study the convergent potential of verbal realities and realities in the form of material artifacts as ways of explication of the mentality of the Soviet and Russian people in a creolized film text using the example of the film “The Irony of Fate. Continuation”. The analysis of the empirical material allowed us to identify the specific features of the domestic mentality in the interpretation of the creators of the precedent film plot in the Russian socio-cultural space.
